2024 MIPA Film Challenge Winner: "Meet the Normans"

"Meet The Normans" is a short film that follows the Norman family, a sitcom of a typical suburban household. As the protagonist, Danny, searches for his beloved dog, the narrative takes a mysterious and eerie turn, leaving much of the story to interpretation. Unsettling secrets emerge, challenging the perception of normalcy without a clear storyline or explanation, and inviting viewers to draw their own conclusions.

"Ian Vanderlugt, a senior at Cedar Springs High School, took a challenge to produce a news story head-on and ran with it... As part of a new initiative for the WOOD TV8 Football Frenzy Tailgate each week, students have the chance to act as journalists and produce a story about the pantry in their community that benefits from the food drive. He aspires to become a filmmaker, and if his hard work on this story is any indication, he will realize that dream. "
